Join Whorouly Landcare and the Ovens Landcare Network for a field day on the benefits of creating shelter belts on your farm.
Ecologists from the Australian National University Sustainable Farms program will discuss research from 20 years of ecological monitoring on farms and how to maximise the habitat values of shelterbelts and remnants.
Kylie Macreadie from Agriculture Victoria will explore how shelter belts create shade and windbreaks and how this can benefit crops, pastures, and livestock.
Lunch provided. Please wear sensible shoes, hat, and weather appropriate clothes. Bring a water bottle.
