Trust for Nature Field Day - Wooragee North East Victoria

Sunday 19 November 2pm - 5pm

Join Trust for Nature staff for a walk and talk on a private property at Wooragee. The site contains one of the best examples of derived native grassland in North East Victoria. 

Learn more about:

  • Plant Identification
  • The importance of disturbance in native grassy ecosystems
  • Managing woody encroachment in native grassy ecosystems
  • Landholder incentive projects
  • Conservation covenants.

The walk will be about 2.5km. Moderate fitness is required. Walking boots, sun/rain protection and a water bottle is a must. You may wish to bring binoculars and /or camera. Afternoon tea is provided.

Mick Carey from North East Fuel Reduction will demonstrate using his Terex rubber tracked machine with mulching attachment to manage wattle encroachment.
