EOIs for funding for North East, Goulburn Broken irrigators close 11 Nov

Irrigators from throughout the North East Catchment Management Authority (CMA) region and the Goulburn Broken CMA dryland region are being encouraged to apply for grants to improve their water use efficiency.

The Incentives for Irrigation Farmers 2022-23 program is funded by the Victorian Government to provide financial incentives to assist with purchasing irrigation scheduling equipment, or to develop an Irrigation Drainage and Environment Plan (IDEP).

Project officer with North East CMA, Scott McDonald said the grant provides up to $2000 per irrigator to contribute to these costs.

Mr McDonald said project officers from North East CMA, Goulburn Broken CMA and Agriculture Victoria will provide technical advice to support applicants to understand their needs and further establish their application scope.

He said the amount of funding available was limited and if oversubscribed, the North East CMA would assess and prioritise irrigators with the highest water use.

Expressions of Interest close at midnight on 11 November 2022 and should be submitted to incentives@necma.vic.gov.au.
