The Lake William Hovell and Lake Buffalo L&OWMP Implementation Groups are seeking people from the
community, business, tourism and recreation sectors with a range of skills, knowledge and experience to become members.
The Implementation Groups are a vital part of implementing the L&OWMP’s, and activities include planning and sourcing external funding for initiatives addressing a range of land and on-water issues such as:
Increasing community awareness and involvement
Community safety
Recreation and tourism
Maintain healthy ecosystems
Cultural heritage
L&OWP’s are facilitated by GMW and are developed and implementation by the community. They are
reliant on community ownership and the ability to attract funding.
The Implementation Group will also include representations from local council and other groups and agencies involved in the management of and provision of services at the waterways.
The operational management of the lakes, including filling and releases is outside the scope of the plan.
