As part of the celebrations of 30 Years of Landcare in Victoria, the North East CMA is now calling for nominations for the 2016 North East Natural Resource Management (NRM) Awards and entries for the My Favourite Place photo story competition.
The North East NRM Awards encourage and recognise the outstanding commitment to the environment, in North East Victoria, demonstrated by a diverse range of individuals and organisations. These awards are run by the North East CMA to recognise the contributions of volunteers and leaders in our community.
My Favourite Place photo story competition will celebrate North East Victoria's amazing natural environment. Entrants are encouraged to submit an image and story explaining why their favourite place, in the region, is special for them.
Tom Croft, Regional Landcare Facilitator with North East CMA said "we are calling for people to portray through an original photo, their connection to the environment of the region,"
When deciding what to photograph Mr Croft said people should consider "Is this a site you visit often, has personal or family connection or you just want people to know about?"
Landcare and related community groups, individuals and partner organisations are all encouraged to nominate for any category. Service awards and prizes will be presented to winning individuals of the award and photo competition categories.
Full award category and photo competition details are available on the North East CMA website http://www.necma.vic.gov.au/Get-Involved/NE-NRM-Awards-2016
Nominations and photo entries close 31 July 2016.
