The North East CMA has funding available to invest in knowledge building and practical on-ground action to improve sustainable land management and protect and conserve natural capital and biodiversity on farms. Funding is available over the next four years in our region.
You can read more about these programs on our website Climate-Smart Agriculture in North East Victoria.

The North East CMA has opened the Expression of Interest (EOI) period for two grant streams – EOI due by 5pm Monday 28 April 2025
GROUP GRANTS
Group grants are available for groups and organisations to deliver group-led activities that support agricultural productivity in north-east Victoria, by improving sustainable land management and protecting and conserving natural capital and biodiversity on farms. Grants of between $10,000 and $40,000 (GST exc.) are available to support 1 to 2.5 year projects, with a total of funding pool of $300,000 (GST exc.) available. Applicants can submit multiple applications.
Group-led activities can include:
- Events (e.g. workshops, field days, training courses) to improve farmer knowledge and adoption of specific sustainable agricultural practices, and
-
On-farm soil testing, installation of soil and farm monitoring equipment, demonstration sites and trials, and/or revegetation programs.

Please read the Group Grant Guidelines to understand and submit your EOI by 5pm Monday 28 April 2025 by completing the online Group application form. A Word version of the application form is available if you would like to read the application questions or cannot complete the online form.
LANDHOLDER INCENTIVES
Landholder incentives are available for individuals to undertake on-ground projects to improve their farm's agricultural productivity, natural capital values and climate resilience. Our target is to establish 40 ha of new vegetation strategically on farms in north-east Victoria over the next three years.

Incentives of up to $5,000/ha (Excl GST) are available for landholders to establish revegetation across the catchment, to support costs associated with fencing, off-stream watering points, site preparation and planting. In addition to this, plants and guards will be provided by the North East CMA.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate in-kind (e.g. labour) or cash co-contributions to offset private benefits and demonstrate value-for-money.
Landholders can only apply for incentives to construct on-farm infrastructure (e.g. fencing and off-stream watering points) if these activities are required to facilitate the establishment of native vegetation to protect or enhance your farm’s natural capital.
Examples of on-ground projects that can be funded under these incentives include:

We encourage landholders to read the Landholder Incentives Guidelines for more information. Minimum farm sizes and project areas apply.
Please submit your EOI by 5pm Monday 28 April 2025 by completing the online Incentives application form. A Word version of the application form is available if you would like to read the application questions or cannot complete the online form.
